This month over at Kraft it Up is Vintage and I had another photo of my mum from around 1953. I'm so lucky to have inherited these photos and I've been using the originals, don't know if that's a good thing but I figure they may just sit in a drawer somewhere if I don't use them.
Products Used:
Graphic 45 - A Ladies Diary
Green Tara Heirloom Flowers and Stemmed Branch
Seam Binding from the Craft Queen
Gorgeous Doily from Lizzy
Prima Alpha from Belinda
Prima Mini Butterflies from Amy
Kaisercraft Flourish Corners
Cuttlebug - Hippie Chick Alpha
Ingvild Bolme Chalk Ink
Beautiful Sandra, and a beautiful photo I mostly use the originals as well (unless the photo is really small and I want to enlarge it , so the image is clearer, or I am going to distress and use lots of messy stitching on the photo) as I figure the reason for scrapbooking is to preserve our photo's ,so I don't see the point of not using the original.
ReplyDeleteLove the soft colours you have used and the cluster in the corner
The way you've those flowers wind their way around the photo is really, really clever...the doily looks great - perfect colour...so this is what you've been doing today:):):)
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely photo of your Mum, beautiful page :)
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning, what a beautiful photo and you have showcased it perfectly with this wonderfully vintage layout.. I love the beautiful flower clusters, so soft and feminine. and those small butterflies are perfect... love this..
ReplyDeleteOh and i usually use copy's of the photos, the only reason if something on the layout is not acid free it could damage the photo over time.. just something I remember reading once a while ago on someones blog!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous layout!!!!!!!! I love it! A beautiful way to showcase a stunning original photograph! :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful layout, Sandra...and such a gorgeous pic of your mum <3
ReplyDeleteSo lovely and highlights what a beauty your mum is! It can be a tough decision whether or not to use the original, but I agree with you in using it rather than it sitting in a drawer somewhere for one to glance upon every once in a blue moon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my blog, and you were asking how I get my stitching designs. They are usually generated on my computer, either finding images I can stitch easily or writting words, however, I will also trace Crafters workshop templates and use those at times.
