Leibster Awards - Passing it on!!!

A fabulous scrapfriend of mine, Sanna, sent me this Leibster Award.

I've been awarded before but it was so long ago and at that time you had to forward it to someone with less that 200 followers.  This time has a bit more interest with the requirement to answer ten questions.

Here are the ten people I'm sending the award to and its totally up to them if they want to continue the chain.  It's a great way to see some blogs that we may not have already visited.

I love to visit the above blogs for different reasons, they all have a beautiful way of crafting and each has their own techniques.

The list of questions are:
1.             What are five things you always take with you when holidaying?
2.             What’s your favourite colour?
3.             What did you want to be when you were a young?
4.             What’s your favourite song and artist?
5.             Name three things you can't live without?
6.             What’s your favourite movie?
7.             Who would you most like to meet in our creative world?
8.             What’s the first thing you reach for when starting a project?
9.             I truly admire…..
10.          What’s your favourite food to cook?

Ladies if you decide to play along please link back here with your answers, I'd love to hear from you.  You can now devise your own ten questions for some other fabulous people.

Now back to you Sanna, here are my answers to your questions.

1. What is your favourite TV soap?  Packed to the Rafters (a recent TV show in Australia)

2. Where would you travel to, if you had an open end budget?  The UK, Europe, Switzerland, Finland, Austria, Denmark, Canada

3. What was your favourite thing to do as a child?  Pretend to be a teacher, use all my stationery and prepare class lessons (I’ve always loved any sort of stationery and organisational tasks)

4. Share a funny story that has happened to you.  I’ll never forget going away on holiday and my then 3-4 year old grandson (daughter’s son) left a message on my telephone answering machine - he said “hi Nanna, it’s me Harley, you know Elizabeth’s son, where are you?  ‘Names changed to protect the innocent’

5. Share a photo from where you live – something typical to your country.  This is actually a friend’s farm but typical of where I grew up as a child and a place where I feel quite at home.

6. Why do you scrap?  I still love to play with paper, paint, glue and also to document family memories.

7. What would you like to learn, but never did?  Creative Writing

8. What was your dream job as a kid?  Weird as is sounds I wanted to work in a pharmacy or be a motor mechanic (maybe that was to meet boys!) but most of all I wanted to be a mother.

9. Who would you like to meet in real life?  Two people - The Dalai Lama and unfortunately the other person I wanted to meet has passed on - Diana, Princess of Wales.

10. What´s on your bucket list?
        i.            Create as much as I can and meet some of my on-line scrappy friends.  To visit some of the places I've listed in Q2, Read more books.

This does take some time but it's a bit of fun and I realise some of you may not have time, its totally up to you if you want to participate - no pressure at all.

Scrap the Boys - Life is a Journey

This month over at Scrap the Boys the challenge is to use flowers on a boy page.
Here's what I came up with after a scrappy night with some friends.
I wish you could see the beautiful sparkle from the gold spray.

I've used a TCW stencil with Dylusions Orange and Heidi Swapp Gold sprays.  The title, film strip and arrows are cut from the Silhouette machine and the flowers are made from hessian/burlap and cut using a Tim Holtz die.  The background stamp is also from Tim Holtz and the cogs on the flowers are from Scrapfx and inked with Distress Ink.
A couple of close-ups.

WOW Challenge- Love You Lots

There's a fabulous sketch over at WOW this month, I can see me using this one again but here's my take on the sketch for the current challenge.

I started the process with a Heidi Swapp resist paper and color shine spray.  I also used a Kaisercraft background stamp of tiny triangles and some Glitz Design 'Wild and Free' patterned paper.  I cut my title with my Silhouette cameo and filled the heart centres with micro beads.  I coloured the WOW cog flourish with gelatos and added some more micro beads and Glossy Accents.  I loved the little journal words from the same range of paper and used some here for my journaling.

I hope you like my take on the sketch and thanks for visiting.

LESSology challenge #35

The challenge at LESSology is to use a tag (recycled) so I found that I'd kept a really cute one from a tote bag I purchased a couple of years ago.  I decorated the shoe on the front with some Kindy Glitz.  The front of the card has some torn patterned paper and a stencil with gel medium before some doodling and water colour pencil colouring.
