Once Upon a Sketch

This is my son about 15 years ago on his wedding day, he doesn't like to smile much for photos but I think this is him being pensive.  The journaling will be hidden behind the page because unfortunately my son has been divorced.
This is my interpretation of the fabulous sketch over at Once Upon a Sketch http://onceuponasketchblog.blogspot.com.au/

And now for a couple of close-ups.
I've done some fussy cutting of the flowers and then mounted them as I did with the smaller two butterflies.  The vine and flowers are all Prima and I stamped some colour on the smaller ones.  The beautiful bule/green butterfly is also Prima.  The alpha is from Buzz & Bloom and I painted it with Gesso before inking with Versa Color marigold to match the smaller roses.  I've also used Kaisercraft Clock Transparency and flourish and a Sullivans flourish.  To finish off the alpha title I covered it with Dimensional Magic.

  2. This is amazing - you've managed to use flowers on a boy LO & it doesn't look in the least bit feminine....man, he looks YOUNG here...not old enough to drive let alone get married...s'pose we were all the same! I reckon that art journaling class has upped the notch of your scrapping:):):)

  10. Gosh you've been busy! I think you've done a wonderful job with this layout. It must be difficult to work out how to scrap a wedding in this circumstance, however the hidden journalling is a great idea!

Thank you for stopping by my newest layout on my blog. I appreciate that you stopping in and left a comment. My daughter see my layout and she saids... (which made me laugh) You made ugly paper look good!! lol The papers are completely out of my color zone. I'd never buy these papers, but because I won the previous month I received this month kit free. So I figured I'd try. Thanks again Sandra.
